Syria and Turkey campaign

2334 Hands solidarity campaign to help Turkey and Syria

Humanitarian emergencies are neither part of strategic plans nor scheduled when budgeting for ESG investment or social engagement.

Humanitarian emergencies are disasters, accidents or events that arise without warning and strike a community, leaving behind a devastating crisis. It’s impossible to sit down and plan an annual strategy that considers the allocation of a budget to assist in humanitarian emergencies.

Hands united

2334 Hands solidarity campaign

For this reason, in the face of the catastrophic earthquake that has shaken southeast Turkey and northern Syria, we feel we cannot stand idly by. We have decided to launch our solidarity campaign 2334 Hands United, aiding the work of the Red Cross to support the rescue workers and care for the people affected with health care, psychological care, shelter, basic needs coverage, and a long list of other needs.

On behalf of the 2334 people who form the atFamily, the Corporate Social Responsibility team has made a financial contribution that will go towards rebuilding in the wake of the damage caused by the earthquake.

Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

At atSistemas, we have made a strong commitment to our community. We offer help to various causes and also proactively engage with our objectives of sustainable development. It is vital for us to be able to react to unforeseen catastrophes that leave behind innocent people in a serious state of need.

The campaign we have launched also aims to align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by helping to achieve the following goals:

Goal 1 – End Poverty

Build the resilience of the poor and people in vulnerable situations and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and environmental disasters.

Goal 13 – Climate Action

Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related risks and natural disasters in all countries.

“As Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, a role which asks me to make the company’s commitment to sustainability and social impact a reality, I have a responsibility to forego the plans and strategy in favour of supporting the thousands of victims of this natural disaster instead. Helping human beings is my priority: as a person, as a professional, and as a representative of atSistemas in terms of social commitment. atSistemas will continue to contribute to society by committing to solidarity initiatives. In this way, we can contribute a grain of sand with our small gestures and actions; these all add up to create a greater positive impact and by doing so as a group, we improve our society” Jessica Iglesias, Director of Marketing and Communication atSistemas.
